For nearly 5,000 years Magicians have performed throughout the world creating what is seemingly supernatural into a possible probability. The Enchanter’s greatest power is their ability to produce question and it is this very technique that has always attracted crowds to create their own assumptions which in turn triggers the viewer’s imagination to run wildly into the direction of what? Magic! Now what is it about magic that fascinates the masses of people all over the world and has done so for decades? Perhaps it is their ability to master grace and fluidity within each hand movement or even believing that the illusion they saw may have in fact, been real. Either way, we can agree that Magic has always delivered an intoxicating sensation of enchantment and wonder to its Spectator’s. Although the art has been called universal and in some respects a treasured form of entertainment, there have been those who detested the practice and sought to destroy the legendary culture. During the dark ages marks the shadowed time for the Magician’s, healers, or simply put anyone who thought independently of common religious beliefs such as… Hmm, I believe Extremists would be a less controversial word we all know how those cult folk get! In short, it was during this time period that the annihilation of magicians and so called witches was more important than the 6th and 9th commandments out of the ten. Which is actually funny considering Jesus was practically one of the first magicians who wandered the earth. Though low and behold his so called “righteous” yet murderous fans not followers or brethren; persecuted and let’s not forget executed anyone who displayed similar gifts or “powers”. Yet don’t fret, for Magic did indeed prevail over its enemies. Only proving the title and position of greater influence and power by, continuing on strong and refusing to lose the right to perform art through any form of self-expression that magic may entail. It is this power that enables magicians throughout the world to persist and evolve the art form into amazingly magnificent spectacles that will forever enrapture humanity! In drawing to the conclusion after all I have said the good and the bad, I would really like to end this with recognizing the beauty of Magic by appreciating the tremendous amounts of effort and faith in oneself that it takes to succeed in this business. It is an enormous selfless obstacle to becoming a performer in fabulous Las Vegas to acquire your own contract and theater in a casino or to have your own television series. It is all too true that many Magicians will never have this opportunity. The journey isn’t an easy one and should not be for everyone. For those who have chosen this grand venture of mysticism, perplexity and knowledge I salute you! Find the answer for you are true visionaries and dreamers who know that anything worth having will come in time and when you are ready. When timing preparation meets you have success.
